My BHLDN Obsession Contd.

So I waited nearly two years from the time of rumors of Anthropologie's new wedding line to the birth of BHLDN, the bridal counterpart of Anthropologie. Launched on Valentine's day, I was instantly in love with all of the dresses, accessories, and recently the new decor line. Last week, BHLDN added four new gorgeous gowns to the mix, each one as beautiful as the last. Like Anthropologie, BHLDN does not walk the wide road, choosing to adopt a less-traditional style. But they still hold on to a sophisticated look, and offer different cuts and styles for all kinds of brides.

Being somewhat of a traditionalist myself, I am most drawn to the Panes of Lace Gown, a modern twist on a vintage gown. And I love the earrings shown in this picture, too!

Passive-Aggressive Wedding Notes

Weddings are joyous occasions, but can be filled with stress, frustration, and just a little passive aggression.
These passive-aggressive wedding notes from Glamour are both humorous and sad. It's friends and family's way to get their last words in before you head out on your own. (Found at A Cup of Jo)

Invitations Don't Have to be Engraved

The traditional wedding invitation is often silver or white, very elegant, and, while beautiful, relatively generic. If you are looking for something a little more creative, colorful, or intricate, Martha Stewart Weddings has some fresh ideas! Browse 50 wedding invitations, using one of their's or gathering inspiration for your own creation.
My favorite is #3, the green and white striped stationery. Basic, elegant, and fun!

New Wedding Decor Line from BHLDN

While the Royal Wedding is certainly the most exciting news in weddings recently, I am very excited about the launch of BHLDN's decor line! So now, not only the details of the wedding attire, but also the stationery, tableware, and so much more can all be found on the same, wonderful site!

For the wedding attendee, there are an unlimited number of keepsakes to give the bride and groom, too!

Hello Again!

Hello again! It has been a busy three weeks for me, and sadly in the mix of it all I have not been on Tumblr in all this time.
So much has happened, including the glorious and beautiful wedding of Kate and William!

From the moment Kate Middleton came into the spotlight, she has been a picture of elegance and grace. Her gentle manner and joyfulness are infectious, and the happy couple quickly has become one of the most beloved in the press.

Their wedding was no exception to this. Truly elegant. There is so much to talk about with the Royal Wedding, but what I loved most about the wedding was Kate's dress. The cut and the lace stayed true to her classic style and personality, and the simplicity did not detract from its stunning presence. It fit her as a glove, flattering in every way. And the v-neck on the dress gives vintage lace a modern look, perfectly blending traditional and modern. Her stunning smile is the "icing on the cake" so-to-speak.

I think my favorite "fact" about the wedding is that Kate did her own makeup. While I am sure that she had excellent makeup coaching, Kate wanted to look like herself (beautiful and radiant as always) on her wedding day. Getting one's makeup done has certainly become the norm these days for essentially all special occasions, and I am no exception. I cannot nearly achieve the makeup artistry of a cosmetologist, and do not think I could put my wedding makeup in my own hands. But Kate, despite the glory and grandeur of the wedding, still wanted to be herself. And she was as beautiful as ever!

Some people procrastinate with Facebook, some with Angry Birds, some by watching reruns on Hulu. Me? I’m a wedding junkie. Those who know me know that I love to look at wedding blogs, wedding dresses, wedding videos, and all things wedding. I am pretty sure I have 20+ wedding apps on my phone, too. My new favorite blog obsession is bhldn.com. I remember the first day I heard about this Anthropologie-esque wedding line. For over a year I (along with my fellow wedding enthusiasts) have been anticipating its launch, and now it is finally here with the same sophisticated elegance of Anthropologie. So to start off my blog, I have included some of my favorites from my new procrastination site.
To help out the bride who doesn’t know where to start looking, BHLDN has included a quiz to help her out. There are four different kinds of brides included on their website, and after a short quiz, the bride will be directed to a selection of dresses and accessories ideal for her dream wedding. The bride can create a page of her own, her “my bhldn” to compile all her ideas to make her vision a reality.
And to ensure my work gets done, too, I started to drink coffee. I have always considered myself a tea drinker, with a cup of coffee about once a year when really needed, but it has become my new addiction, and like a true coffee addict, I drink my coffee black. It’s simple. And I am getting to the point where I can almost call it delicious.

I've Moved!

I have been using Tumblr for my posts, but am excited to try out Blogger and see if it may be a more effective way of blogging. I will upload a few posts from my previous blog, but in the meantime feel free to check it out at teaandblackcoffee.tumblr.com!
